A new model has arrived: Tie Dye

- Categories : Last News

It's finally here! The Tie Dye finish is now available on our online site!

But what's so special about this finish? We have cataloged this finish among the Paint straps because its peculiarity lies precisely in the coloring method.
As the name of this leather implies, the "Tie Dye" method refers to the decorative technique that is achieved through the creation of knots on the fabrics.
We have transferred this technique to leather.

The Vegetable Tanned Leather certified by the Tuscan Genuine Leather Consortium is treated with natural products and then colored with this technique so the design is always different and particular.
The resulting decoration is characterized by a particular effect of shaded designs , reminiscent of the psychedelic fantasy typical of the clothing of the flower children.

A bit of history

It is said that Tie Dye is a thousand-year-old fabric dyeing technique because fabrics with this typical processing have been found in Egypt and in the areas of Mesopotamia.
It is hypothesized that the technique of painting with knots goes back as far back as 5000 BC and depending on the countries where it has spread it has taken on a different name: in India the technique is called Bandhana, in South America it is known as Plangi while in Japan it has the name of Shibori.

In every region of the world where it has taken hold, this technique has taken on peculiar characteristics all united by the fact that the designs on the fabric are obtained by practicing knots.

A Retro trend that we bring back to the guitar straps!
