Matteo Balani

Graduated in Pop-Rock Electric Bass at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, he specialized in courses at the “Berklee College of Music” in Boston. After collaborating with Yamaha Music School, he has been a teacher of electric bass, theory, and harmony since 2000. He is an external lecturer for the "Centro Professionale Musica" in Milan, CPMedu division. For the prestigious publishing house Volontè & Co he has published two teaching methods in his name: "Method of simple bass" and "Method of self-taught bass" and he is a translator of famous manuals, some used in Italian conservatories: "Concepts of Bass Soloing" by Chuck Sher and Marc Johnson, "The Latin Bass Book" by Chuck Sher and Oscar Stagnaro, "Slap It" by Tony Hoppenheim, "Ear Training" by Armen Donelian, "Essential Grooves" by Dan Moretti, "The Jazz Bass Line Book ”By Mike Downes,“ Jaco Pastorius-Bass Method ”by Ray Peterson. He also collaborated in the drafting of the method "The Bass Journal" of Maestro Maurizio Rolli as editor. He has held educational seminars and/or demonstrations at SIM, Disma Music Show, Bass Line Music Shop, Second Hand Guitars, Music Wall, and numerous music schools and published articles for the famous Musical Instruments magazine. He recently collaborated as assistant to M ° Bruce Pearson (a famous American teacher) for a national tour of seminars on orchestration at musical institutes and conservatories. He has recently collaborated as bassist live and/or in the studio with Osvaldo Di Dio (Cristiano De Andrè, Franco Battiato), Johnny Pozzi (Roby Facchinetti), Ace (Skunk Anansie), Max Cottafavi (Ligabue), Nando Bonini (Vasco Rossi) , RAD1 and in the theatrical tours of Corrado Tedeschi, Leonardo Manera (Zelig), Ornella Vanoni. He is currently on tour with Dario Ballantini, with dozens of performances in the major Italian theaters and squares and in the LCProject of the famous guitarist Luca Colombo. He is a session bass player at RecLab Studios in Milan.
