The characteristic vintage effect of a Magrabò strap is exclusive of the Stone Washed straps …

The material

In order to produce the HS Stone Washed straps, Magrabò uses top quality leathers with Tuscan Certified Vegetable Tanning for the upper part of the strap, while for the lower part Magrabò uses suede to make the strap ergonomic and stable during performances.

Vegetable Tanning Leather allows the strap to adapt to the musician’s body thanks to its typical “thermoforming” characteristic.
This characteristic means that the strap acquires a greater support surface in the shoulder of the musician, making the instrument lighter during performance.

Suede leather allows excellent stability of the instrument thanks to greater adherence to the shoulder.

The processing

To create the Stone Washed shoulder bags, Magrabò has a recipe.

Magrabò matchs leathers as sandwiches, adding a reinforcing layer between the two. Following is the cut of the straps and the subsequent hand-stitching of each piece. Tails and bodies sewn with a light colored thread.

The straps are washed with water and stones by rotating inside a special washing machine. The rocks damage the surface of the skin, giving, once the washing is finished, nuances and unique signs in each piece.
After drying, a protective cream is passed over the strap, which rehydrates and polishes it.

At the end of polishing, the edges of the straps are chamfered and finished by hand with specific products.

Stone Washed straps show signs of wear and beauty that are exclusive and original.
